Upadeshasahasri 16.69

16.69 Shankaracharya

svasākṣikaṃ jñānamatīva nirmalaṃ vikalpanābhyo viparītamadvayam | avāpya samyagyadi niścito bhavenniranvayo nirvṛtimeti śāśvatīm ||

Having rightly gained this knowledge, which is its own witness, utterly pure, the opposite of all mental constructions, and non-dual, if one becomes certain [of it], one is free of all ties and attains everlasting peace.

Meaning today and context

Peace comes not from more experiences but from becoming certain about what you are: the awareness that needs no proof. Doubt keeps reopening the wound; clear knowing closes it.

Shankaracharya describes the fruit of right knowledge.
