स गुरुस्तारयेद्युक्तं शिष्यं शिष्यगुणान्वितम् । ब्रह्मविद्याप्लवेनाशु स्वान्तध्वान्तमहोदधिम् ॥
sa gurustārayedyuktaṃ śiṣyaṃ śiṣyaguṇānvitam | brahmavidyāplavenāśu svāntadhvāntamahodadhim ||
Such a teacher should swiftly carry the earnest disciple, who has a disciple's qualities, across the great ocean of his own inner darkness on the raft of the knowledge of Brahman.
