Meaning today and context
Everything in us that strives, speaks and worries is moved by some fear. Discovering a joy that does not depend on anything ends the reason to be afraid.
Shankaracharya, in the seventeenth chapter of the Upadeshasahasri (on right thinking), refers to the Taittiriya Upanishad (2.8–2.9), where wind, fire and the rest act out of fear of Brahman, and the knower of Brahman's bliss fears nothing.
