Bondage and liberation, all this, are both to be set aside, and so are unity and duality; the highest reality, one and utterly pure, lies beyond the known and the unknown. Having understood this rightly, as taught by scripture and the sages, one passes beyond grief and delusion; free of the fear of worldly existence, he becomes all-knowing, the doer of all, a true knower of Brahman who has done all there is to do.
'Brāhmaṇa' here means one who knows Brahman, not a caste by birth. If you are grieving, the loss is real and mourning is natural; this verse does not dismiss it.

Even the idea of 'getting liberated' can become one more thing to chase. When you see that what you are was never bound, grief and confusion lose their grip and nothing remains to prove.
Shankaracharya, in the seventeenth chapter of the Upadeshasahasri (on right thinking), sums up the teaching in a longer verse (sragdhara metre).
