18.220 Shankaracharya

tvamarthaṃ pratyagātmānaṃ paśyedātmānamātmani | vākyārthaṃ tata ātmānaṃ sarvaṃ paśyati kevalam ||

One should see the inner Self, the meaning of 'thou', as the Self within oneself; then [one sees] the meaning of the sentence: one sees the Self alone as everything.

Meaning today and context

First find the quiet awareness inside you, apart from moods and roles. Then that same awareness is seen in everything, and the wall between you and the world softens.

Shankaracharya describes the two steps of understanding 'Thou art That': first see the Self within, then see the Self as all.
