Upadeshasahasri 18.229

18.229 Shankaracharya

kṣudhayā pīḍyamāno'pi na viṣaṃ hyattumicchati | miṣṭānnadhvastatṛḍjānannāmūḍhastajjighatsati ||

Even when tormented by hunger, one does not wish to eat poison; and one whose hunger has been removed by sweet food, knowing [it is poison], if he is not deluded, certainly does not want to eat it.

Meaning today and context

Once you clearly see that something harms you, you do not need willpower to refuse it; and when you are already fulfilled, it holds no attraction at all. Clear seeing does what struggle cannot.

Shankaracharya gives an image for the dispassion of the knower: no sane person wants poison, whether hungry or full.
