अहंकर्तैव संसारी स्वतन्त्र इति केचन । अहंकारादिसंतानः संसारी नान्वयि पृथक् ॥
ahaṃkartaiva saṃsārī svatantra iti kecana | ahaṃkārādisaṃtānaḥ saṃsārī nānvayi pṛthak ||
Some say the ego itself is the transmigrator, independent. [Others say] the transmigrator is the series of ego and the rest, with no separate continuing [self] running through it.
कुछ कहते हैं कि अहंकार स्वयं स्वतन्त्र संसारी है। [अन्य कहते हैं कि] अहंकार आदि की सन्तति (प्रवाह) ही संसारी है, उनसे अलग कोई अनुगामी [आत्मा] नहीं।
