अन्योन्यापेक्षया तेषां प्रधानगुणतेष्यते । विशेषणविशेष्यत्वं तथा ग्राह्यं हि युक्तितः ॥
anyonyāpekṣayā teṣāṃ pradhānaguṇateṣyate | viśeṣaṇaviśeṣyatvaṃ tathā grāhyaṃ hi yuktitaḥ ||
Because they depend on each other, they are held to stand as principal and subordinate; likewise their relation as qualifier and qualified is to be understood by reasoning.
परस्पर अपेक्षा के कारण उनमें प्रधान और गुण (गौण) का भाव माना गया है; उसी प्रकार विशेषण और विशेष्य का सम्बन्ध भी युक्ति से समझना चाहिए।
