विमथ्य वेदोदधितः समुद्धृतं सुरैर्महाब्धेस्तु यथा महात्मभिः । तथामृतं ज्ञानमिदं हि यैः पुरा नमो गुरुभ्यः परमीक्षितं च यैः ॥
vimathya vedodadhitaḥ samuddhṛtaṃ surairmahābdhestu yathā mahātmabhiḥ | tathāmṛtaṃ jñānamidaṃ hi yaiḥ purā namo gurubhyaḥ paramīkṣitaṃ ca yaiḥ ||
As the gods churned the great ocean and drew out the nectar, so the great-souled ones long ago churned the ocean of the Veda and drew out this nectar of knowledge. Salutations to those teachers by whom the Supreme was seen.
जैसे देवताओं ने महासागर को मथकर अमृत निकाला, वैसे ही महात्माओं ने पूर्वकाल में वेद-सागर को मथकर यह ज्ञान-अमृत निकाला। उन गुरुओं को नमस्कार जिन्होंने परम तत्त्व को देखा।
