mokṣaikasaktyā viṣayeṣu rāgaṃ | nirmūlya saṃnyasya ca sarvakarma | sacchraddhayā yaḥ śravaṇādiniṣṭho | rajaḥsvabhāvaṃ sa dhunoti buddheḥ ||
Uprooting attachment to sense-objects through a single-minded love of liberation, giving up all actions, devoted with true faith to hearing the teaching and the rest, one shakes off the restless nature of the intellect.
'Giving up all actions' describes the renunciate's path; for most people it means inner detachment, not abandoning family, work or responsibilities.
