tadvairāgyaṃ jihāsā yā darśanaśravaṇādibhiḥ | dehādibrahmaparyante hyanitye bhogavastuni ||

Dispassion is the wish to let go of every object of enjoyment known through seeing, hearing and the rest, all of them impermanent, from one's own body up to the world of Brahmā.

Meaning today and context

Dispassion is not hating things; it is no longer expecting lasting happiness from what cannot last, whether a possession, a pleasure or even a heavenly reward.

The author defines the second means, dispassion.
