Vivekachudamani 1.216

1.216 Guru to Disciple

asau svasākṣiko bhāvo yataḥ svenānubhūyate | ataḥ paraṃ svayaṃ sākṣātpratyagātmā na cetaraḥ ||

This Self is its own witness, since it is experienced by itself alone. Therefore this inner Self is itself, directly, the supreme; nothing else is.

Meaning today and context

You never need anyone else to confirm that you are aware. That self-evident awareness is what the text calls the highest.

The guru concludes the argument: the Self is its own witness and is directly the inner Self.
