Vivekachudamani 1.224

1.224 Guru to Disciple

brahmabhūtastu saṃsṛtyai vidvānnāvartate punaḥ | vijñātavyamataḥ samyagbrahmābhinnatvamātmanaḥ ||

The knower who has become Brahman does not return again to worldly existence. Therefore one's own non-difference from Brahman must be known thoroughly.

Meaning today and context

Real understanding does not wear off like a mood. Once you have truly seen something, you cannot unsee it; so it is worth understanding deeply, not superficially.

The guru adds that one who has become Brahman does not return to the cycle of births.
