Vivekachudamani 1.230

1.230 Guru to Disciple

sadbrahmakāryaṃ sakalaṃ sadevaṃ | tanmātrametanna tato'nyadasti | astīti yo vakti na tasya moho | vinirgato nidritavatprajalpaḥ ||

Everything that is an effect of the Real, Brahman, is likewise only the Real; it is just that, and there is nothing other than it. Whoever says something else exists has not yet shed delusion; he is like someone talking in his sleep.

Meaning today and context

The text is blunt: seeing separation everywhere is like talking in one's sleep. The point is to wake up, not to look down on those still dreaming.

The guru applies the clay example to Brahman and the world.
