Vivekachudamani 1.401

1.401 Guru to Disciple

kalpārṇava ivātyantaparipūrṇaikavastuni | nirvikāre nirākāre nirviśeṣe bhidā kutaḥ ||

In the one reality, utterly full like the ocean at the end of an age, in the changeless, the formless, the attributeless, where could difference come from?

Meaning today and context

When the cosmic flood covers everything there are no separate shores. The image speaks of a fullness in which nothing is lacking and nothing stands apart.

The guru, continuing his teaching to the disciple, continues the refrain: the one reality is utterly full, like the ocean at the dissolution of the world.
