Vivekachudamani 1.402

1.402 Guru to Disciple

tejasīva tamo yatra pralīnaṃ bhrāntikāraṇam | advitīye pare tattve nirviśeṣe bhidā kutaḥ ||

In which darkness, the cause of error, dissolves like darkness in light: in that supreme reality without a second, without attributes, where could difference come from?

Meaning today and context

Darkness is not fought away; it simply is not there when light comes. Understanding works the same way on confusion.

The guru, continuing his teaching to the disciple, continues: in the supreme reality, ignorance, the cause of error, dissolves like darkness in light.
