Vivekachudamani 1.408

1.408 Guru to Disciple

kimapi satatabodhaṃ kevalānandarūpaṃ | nirupamamativelaṃ nityamuktaṃ nirīham | niravadhigaganābhaṃ niṣkalaṃ nirvikalpaṃ | hṛdi kalayati vidvānbrahma pūrṇaṃ samādhau ||

Something beyond words: constant awareness, pure bliss, beyond compare, beyond all bounds, ever free, without striving, like limitless sky, without parts, free of distinctions. The wise one realises this full Brahman in the heart in samādhi.

Meaning today and context

The verse describes the goal of meditation not as a special experience but as recognising an awareness that is already free and unbounded. Even a glimpse of it can make daily pressures feel smaller.

The guru, continuing his teaching to the disciple, begins three verses describing how the wise one realises the full Brahman in the heart in samādhi.
