śāntasaṃsārakalanaḥ kalāvānapi niṣkalaḥ | yasya cittaṃ viniścintaṃ sa jīvanmukta iṣyate ||

One in whom all reckoning with worldly life is stilled, who though possessing parts is partless, whose mind is free of worry, is regarded as liberated while living.

Meaning today and context

A mind always calculating gains and losses never rests. The verse holds up a mind free of worry as a mark of freedom, something even small steps toward can ease.

The guru, continuing his teaching to the disciple, continues the marks of the jīvanmukta: the reckoning of worldly life is stilled and the mind is free of anxiety.
