अज्ञानयोगात्परमात्मनस्तव । ह्यनात्मबन्धस्तत एव संसृतिः । तयोर्विवेकोदितबोधवह्निः । अज्ञानकार्यं प्रदहेत्समूलम् ॥
ajñānayogātparamātmanastava | hyanātmabandhastata eva saṃsṛtiḥ | tayorvivekoditabodhavahniḥ | ajñānakāryaṃ pradahetsamūlam ||
Through ignorance, you, who are the supreme Self, come to be bound to the not-Self, and from that alone comes the round of birth and death. The fire of understanding, kindled by discerning the two, will burn up the effects of ignorance, root and all.
अज्ञान के कारण ही तुम, जो परमात्मा हो, अनात्मा से बँधे हो, और उसी से जन्म-मृत्यु का चक्र है। उन दोनों के विवेक से उत्पन्न ज्ञान की अग्नि अज्ञान के कार्य को जड़ सहित जला देगी।
