Vivekachudamani 1.484

1.484 Disciple to Guru

kiṃ heyaṃ kimupādeyaṃ kimanyatkiṃ vilakṣaṇam | akhaṇḍānandapīyūṣapūrṇe brahmamahārṇave ||

What is there to give up, what to take up? What is other, what is different, in the great ocean of Brahman, full of the nectar of unbroken bliss?

Meaning today and context

So much of life is spent pushing some things away and grabbing at others. The verse describes a fullness in which that tug-of-war ends; even a little of it makes us less driven by craving and aversion.

The disciple, risen from absorption, describes his realisation to the guru: in the ocean of Brahman, full of unbroken bliss, nothing remains to reject or to seek.
