This house has nine doors, three pillars and five witnesses, and is presided over by the knower of the field. The learned one who knows it is the supreme seer.
Meaning today and context
The body, with its nine openings, held up by its constituents and watched by the five senses, is a dwelling for the Self. Knowing oneself as the dweller, not merely the house, is the highest knowledge.
Moving to 'nine', Vidura describes the body as a house and the one who knows its true dweller.
