Hypocrisy, delusion, envy, wicked deeds, what offends the ruler, slander, enmity with groups, and arguing with the drunk, the deranged and the wicked: the wise person who avoids these is foremost.

Meaning today and context

Avoid pretence, envy, wrongdoing, gossip, feuds with whole groups, and pointless arguments with people who are drunk, unreasonable or malicious. Not every fight is worth having.

Vidura lists what a wise person avoids in order to stand foremost.
