न तद्बलं यन्मृदुना विरुध्यते मिश्रो धर्मस्तरसा सेवितव्यः । प्रध्वंसिनी क्रूरसमाहिता श्रीर्मृदुप्रौढा गच्छति पुत्रपौत्रान् ॥
na tadbalaṃ yanmṛdunā virudhyate miśro dharmastarasā sevitavyaḥ | pradhvaṃsinī krūrasamāhitā śrīrmṛduprauḍhā gacchati putrapautrān ||
That is not strength which is at odds with gentleness. Subtle dharma should be followed with resolve. Prosperity built on cruelty perishes; prosperity grown through gentleness passes on to sons and grandsons.
