sarvaṃ tvamāyatīyuktaṃ bhāṣase prājñasaṃmatam | na cotsahe sutaṃ tyaktuṃ yato dharmastato jayaḥ ||
All you say looks to the future and is approved by the wise. Yet I cannot bring myself to abandon my son. Where dharma is, there is victory.
Correcting a child does not mean abandoning or rejecting them. The verse is about not shielding wrongdoing out of attachment.

Knowing what is right and being able to do it are two different things. Many parents see their child's wrongdoing clearly yet cannot correct it, because love has turned into attachment. Admitting this, as Dhritarashtra does, is the first step; the next is acting on it.
Dhritarashtra admits to Vidura that his counsel is wise and far-sighted, yet confesses he cannot bring himself to abandon his son Duryodhana.
