1.47 Yudhishthira to Yaksha

sūrya eko vicarati candramā jāyate punaḥ | agnirhimasya bhaiṣajyaṃ bhūmirāvapanaṃ mahat ||

"The sun moves about alone; the moon is born again; fire is the remedy for cold; the earth is the great field for sowing."

Meaning today and context

The sun goes its way alone, the moon wanes and returns: nature itself shows both solitude and renewal.

Yudhishthira answers the four riddles (what moves alone, is born again, cures cold, is the great field).
