For that [person], wisdom reaches its final ground in seven stages.

Wisdom ripens in stages, not in one flash. The sūtra only says there are seven; what they are is filled in by later tradition, so it is enough to know that understanding deepens step by step.
प्रज्ञा एक झटके में नहीं, चरणों में पकती है। सूत्र केवल इतना कहता है कि ये सात हैं; वे कौन से हैं, यह बाद की परंपरा बताती है। इतना जानना काफ़ी है कि समझ धीरे-धीरे गहरी होती है।
