Yoga Sutras of Patanjali 3.38

3.38 Patanjali

bandhakāraṇaśaithilyātpracārasaṃvedanācca cittasya paraśarīrāveśaḥ ||

From loosening the cause of bondage and from knowing the pathways of the mind, entry into another's body.

This sūtra states what the text claims follows from saṃyama; it is not a feat to attempt or test, and it proves nothing about anyone. Be wary of anyone who sells, demonstrates or promises such powers, or asks for money or obedience in return. Patanjali himself calls these powers obstacles to samādhi (3.37).

This is the text's claim, not something anyone can do or demonstrate. Claims of possession or of entering others' bodies should never be used to frighten or control anyone.

Part of the list of powers (vibhūti) that Patanjali says follow from saṃyama.
