Yoga Sutras of Patanjali 3.41

3.41 Patanjali

śrotrākāśayoḥ saṃbandhasaṃyamāddivyaṃ śrotram ||

By saṃyama on the relation between the ear and space, divine hearing.

This sūtra states what the text claims follows from saṃyama; it is not a feat to attempt or test, and it proves nothing about anyone. Be wary of anyone who sells, demonstrates or promises such powers, or asks for money or obedience in return. Patanjali himself calls these powers obstacles to samādhi (3.37). If you hear voices or sounds that distress you, seek help (Tele-MANAS 14416).
