3.44 Patanjali

sthūlasvarūpasūkṣmānvayārthavattvasaṃyamādbhūtajayaḥ ||

By saṃyama on the gross form, essential nature, subtle form, connectedness and purposefulness [of the elements], mastery over the elements.

This sūtra states what the text claims follows from saṃyama; it is not a feat to attempt or test, and it proves nothing about anyone. Be wary of anyone who sells, demonstrates or promises such powers, or asks for money or obedience in return. Patanjali himself calls these powers obstacles to samādhi (3.37).
