If they should say to him, 'If everything is held in this city of Brahman, all beings and all desires, then when old age overtakes it or it falls apart, what is left over?'

Meaning today and context
This is the question anyone facing ageing or death asks: if everything depends on this body, what is left when it fails? The Upanishad takes the fear seriously before it answers.
Chandogya 8.1.4: a second objection is anticipated: if everything is held in this body, what remains when the body grows old and perishes?
