स बन्धुर्यो विपन्नानामापद्-उद्धरण-क्षमः । न तु भीत-परित्राण-वस्तूपालम्भ-पण्डितः ॥
sa bandhuryo vipannānāmāpad-uddharaṇa-kṣamaḥ | na tu bhīta-paritrāṇa-vastūpālambha-paṇḍitaḥ ||
A true kinsman is one who is able to lift the afflicted out of their trouble, not one who is clever at scolding them when they are frightened and need rescue.
