Hitopadesha 1.64

1.64 Narayana

uttamasyāpi varṇasya nīco'pi gṛhamāgataḥ | pūjanīyo yathā-yogyaṃ sarva-deva-mayo'tithiḥ ||

Even if a lowly person comes to the house of one of the highest class, he is to be honoured as befits him: a guest embodies all the gods.

'Highest class' and 'lowly' reflect the varṇa terms of the text's time. Read them as roles and conduct, never birth-based caste; the verse itself insists the guest is honoured whoever they are.
