The mind of a good person, even when provoked, does not change; the waters of the ocean cannot be heated with a torch of straw.

Meaning today and context

A deep, settled mind is not easily stirred by insults or provocation. Small irritations are like a straw flame on the sea; let them burn out without letting them change you.

The crow's third plea to Hiraṇyaka, describing the steadiness of the good.
