मूल-भृत्यान्परित्यज्य नागन्तून्प्रतिमानयेत् । नातः परतरो दोषो राज्य-भेद-करो यतः ॥
mūla-bhṛtyānparityajya nāgantūnpratimānayet | nātaḥ parataro doṣo rājya-bheda-karo yataḥ ||
One should not set aside one's original, long-standing servants and honour newcomers instead; there is no greater fault than this, for it splits the kingdom.
