pitā vā yadi vā bhrātā putrī vā yadi vā suhṛt | prāṇa-ccheda-karā rājñā hantavyā bhūtimicchatā ||

Father or brother, son or friend: those who threaten one's life must be killed by a king who wants prosperity.

Spoken by the scheming jackal Damanaka to justify a killing. It is not a licence for violence, revenge or harming anyone, family included. If you are in danger, call 112 (or 181 for women's helpline).
