śiṣṭairapyaviśeṣajña ugraśca kṛta-nāśakaḥ | tyajyate kiṃ punarnānyairyaścāpyātmambharirnaraḥ ||
One who does not distinguish merit, who is harsh and forgets favours done, is abandoned even by the good; how much more by others, and so is the man who feeds only himself.
