Hitopadesha 4.47

4.47 Narayana

sadādharma-balīyastvāddeva brāhmaṇa-nindakaḥ | viśīryate svayaṃ hyeṣa daivopahatakastathā ||

Because dharma is always the stronger, the reviler of gods and brahmins falls apart by himself; and so does the one struck down by fate.

"Brahmins" here means the learned and devout, by conduct, not by birth; and misfortune is not a sign that someone deserved it.

The verse trusts that contempt for what is good and sacred eventually undermines the one who shows it. Today it can be read as: a person who sneers at every value has nothing to stand on when tested.

Sarvajña explains, one by one, why each of the twenty weak rulers is easily overcome.
