न भूत-दानं न सुवर्ण-दानं । न गो-प्रदानं न तथान्न-दानम् । यथा वदन्तीह महा-प्रदानं । सर्वेषु दानेष्वभय-प्रदानम् ॥
na bhūta-dānaṃ na suvarṇa-dānaṃ | na go-pradānaṃ na tathānna-dānam | yathā vadantīha mahā-pradānaṃ | sarveṣu dāneṣvabhaya-pradānam ||
Not the gift of living beings, nor the gift of gold, nor the gift of cows, nor even the gift of food: of all gifts, the one people here call the great gift is the gift of safety.
