उत्सवे व्यसने युद्धे दुर्भिक्षे राष्ट्र-विप्लवे । राज-द्वारे श्मशाने च यस्तिष्ठति स बान्धवः ॥
utsave vyasane yuddhe durbhikṣe rāṣṭra-viplave | rāja-dvāre śmaśāne ca yastiṣṭhati sa bāndhavaḥ ||
In festivity and in calamity, in war, in famine, in the upheaval of the land, at the king's gate and at the cremation ground: the one who stands by you there is your kin.
