नालं सुखाय सुहृदो नालं दुःखाय शत्रवः । न च प्रज्ञालमर्थानां न सुखानामलं धनम् ॥
nālaṃ sukhāya suhṛdo nālaṃ duḥkhāya śatravaḥ | na ca prajñālamarthānāṃ na sukhānāmalaṃ dhanam ||
Friends are not enough to make one happy, nor enemies enough to make one miserable. Wisdom is not enough to gain wealth, nor is wealth enough for happiness.
मित्र सुख देने में समर्थ नहीं, न शत्रु दुख देने में। बुद्धि धन दिलाने में समर्थ नहीं, न धन सुख देने में।
