Rogues without love, wearing the form of love, hell in human shape: they will not deceive me again. I have woken; I am awake.

Meaning today and context

Once we see clearly how false promises and empty pleasures have used us, they lose their power. Waking up is seeing, not hating.

Mahabharata 12.168.50: Pingala says the rogues who came without love, in the guise of love, like hell in human form, will not deceive her again: she has woken up and is awake.
