12.254.45 Tuladhara to Jajali

aghnyā iti gavāṃ nāma ka enānhantumarhati | mahaccakārākuśalaṃ pṛṣadhro gālabhanniva ||

'Aghnyā', 'not to be killed', is the name of cows: who could rightly kill them? One who slaughters a cow does a great wrong, as Pṛṣadhra did.

This story on the sanctity of cows must never be used to justify threats, violence or harassment against any person or community; such acts are crimes and the opposite of the non-harming this chapter teaches. For danger, call 112.
