Mokshadharma 12.276.33

12.276.33 Narada to Galava

etasmātkāraṇātprajñāṃ mṛgayante pṛthagvidhām | prajñālābho hi bhūtānāmuttamaḥ pratibhāti mām ||

For this reason people seek wisdom of many kinds. To me the gaining of wisdom appears the highest thing for beings.

Meaning today and context

Of all the things we try to gain, understanding is the one that improves everything else: our speech, our choices, our peace.

Mahabharata 12.276.33: Nārada concludes this part: because of all this, wisdom is the greatest gain.
