Just as one feels the touch of water, of fire and of the moon, so we see that both sin and merit are felt by touch.
Meaning today and context
Good and bad influences are almost physical: like cold water, heat or cool moonlight, they reach us simply by being near.
Mahabharata 12.276.38: Nārada gives an image for how merit and sin touch us.
