prājña eko ramate brāhmaṇānāṃ prājña eko bahubhirjoṣamāste | prājña eko balavāndurbalo'pi prājña eṣāṃ kalahaṃ nānvavaiti ||
The wise one alone finds delight among brahmins; the wise one alone stays quietly content among many; the wise one alone is strong though weak; the wise one does not get drawn into their quarrels.
'Brahmin' and 'twice-born' here are defined by conduct and inner discipline, never by birth; the verse must not be used to rank or exclude anyone.
