Mokshadharma 12.171.42

parityajāmi kāma tvāṃ hitvā sarvamanogatīḥ | na tvaṃ mayā punaḥ kāma nasyoteneva raṃsyase ||

I give you up, Desire, and leave behind all the mind's wanderings. You will never again play with me, Desire, like an ox led by a rope through its nose.

Meaning today and context

A craving can lead us around like a bull with a nose-ring. Letting go of the mind's restless running is what removes the rope.

In the story Bhishma tells (12.171), Mankin speaks to himself and to Desire after losing his last wealth: he renounces Desire and the mind's wanderings; it will no longer lead him like an ox by a nose-rope.
