12.172.15 The python-vowed sage to Prahlada

jaṅgamasthāvarāṇāṃ ca bhūtānāmasurādhipa | pārthivānāmapi vyaktaṃ mṛtyuṃ paśyāmi sarvaśaḥ ||

Of beings moving and unmoving, O lord of the Asuras, and of all that belongs to the earth, I clearly see death on every side.

Meaning today and context

Death is not a rare accident but part of everything alive. Seeing that steadily is meant to make us wiser, not afraid.

Mahabharata 12.172.15: The sage, addressing Prahlada as lord of the Asuras, says he sees death everywhere, in moving and unmoving beings alike.
