prajñā pratiṣṭhā bhūtānāṃ prajñā lābhaḥ paro mataḥ | prajñā naiḥśreyasī loke prajñā svargo mataḥ satām ||
Bhishma said: Wisdom is the foundation of beings; wisdom is held to be the highest gain. Wisdom is the highest good in the world; the good regard wisdom as heaven itself.
भीष्म ने कहा: बुद्धि (प्रज्ञा) ही प्राणियों का आधार है; बुद्धि को ही सबसे बड़ा लाभ माना गया है। संसार में बुद्धि ही परम कल्याण देने वाली है; सज्जन बुद्धि को ही स्वर्ग मानते हैं।
