Sanatsujatiya 1.19

1.19 Sanatsujata to Dhritarashtra

yatra manyeta bhūyiṣṭhaṃ prāvṛṣīva tṛṇolapam | annaṃ pānaṃ ca brāhmaṇastajjīvannānusaṃjvaret ||

Where he finds food and drink in plenty, like grass and reeds in the rainy season, there the brahmin should live; living on that, he should not hanker after it.

'Brahmin' here means a person of learning, truthfulness and self-restraint, as these chapters themselves define it; it is about conduct, never birth, and must not be used to rank or exclude anyone.

Meet your needs simply and then stop worrying about them. Having enough and not obsessing about more frees the mind for what matters.

Sanatsujata says the seeker should live where food and drink are plentiful, like grass in the rains, and live on that without hankering or fretting.
