यमप्रयतमानं तु मानयन्ति स मानितः । न मान्यमानो मन्येत नामानादभिसंज्वरेत् ॥
yamaprayatamānaṃ tu mānayanti sa mānitaḥ | na mānyamāno manyeta nāmānādabhisaṃjvaret ||
He whom people honour though he does not strive for it is truly honoured. When honoured, he should not be puffed up; when not honoured, he should not burn with resentment.
